| The Half Windsor Tie Knot |

The Half Windsor Tie Knot, a version of the Windsor Tie Knot, is a symmetrical and triangular tie knot usable with any dress shirt. It works best with somewhat wider ties made from light to medium fabrics.
To tie the Half Windsor Tie Knot, select a tie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror.

The wide end “A” should extend about 12 inches below the narrow end “B”. Cross the wide end “A” over the narrow end “B”. |

Bring the wide end “A” around and behind the narrow end “B”. |

Bring the wide end “A” up. |

Pull the wide end “A” through the loop. |

Bring the wide end “A” around front, over the narrow end “B” from right to left. |

Again, bring the wide end “A” up and through the loop. |

Bring the wide end “A” down through the knot in front. |

Using both hands, tighten the knot carefully and draw it up to the collar. |
Congratulations, you did it! Keep working on it and practice until you are good at it.

| The Four in Hand Tie Knot |

The Four in Hand Tie Knot is a narrow, more discreet and slightly asymmetrical knot. It is best suited for a standard button-down dress shirt and works well wide ties made from heavy fabrics.
While this tie knot can be worn by anyone, it looks especially well on men with shorter necks as the knot’s narrow and elongated form stretches the perceived height of the neck a bit.
To tie the Four in Hand Tie Knot, select a tie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror.
Follow these simple steps:

The wide end “A” should extend about 12 inches below the narrow end “B”. Cross the wide end “A” over the narrow end “B”. |

Turn the wide end “A” back underneath the narrow end “B”. |

Continue by bringing the wide end “A” back over in front of the narrow end “B” again. |

Pull the wide end “A” up and through the loop around your neck. |

Hold the front of the knot loosely with your index finger and bring the wide end “A” down through the front knot. |

Remove your finer and tighten the knot carefully to the collar by holding the narrow end “B” and sliding the knot up. |

| The Windsor Tie Knot |

The Windsor Tie Knot is a thick, wide and triangular tie knot which projects confidence. It would be your choice for presentations, a job interview, courtroom appearance, etc. It is best suited for spread collar shirts and is quite easy to do.
While just about everyone can use this knot to tie his tie, it looks especially well on men with longer necks as its wide form shortens the perceived height of the neck.
To tie the Windsor Tie Knot, select a tie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror.

The wide end “A” should extend about 12 inches below the narrow end “B”. Cross “A” over “B”. |

Bring the wide end “A” up through the loop between the collar and your tie; then back down. |

Pull the wide end “A” underneath the narrow end “B” and to the right, back through the loop and to the right again so that the
wide end “A” is inside out. |

Bring the wide end “A” across the front from right to left. |

Pull the wide end “A” up through the loop again. |

| Bow Ties |

Start with “A” in left hand extending 1 1/2” below “B” in right hand. |

Cross “A” over “B” and pass up through loop. Form front loop of bow by doubling up “B” and placing across collar points. |

Hold front loop with thumb and forefinger of left hand. Drop “A” over front. |

With your left thumb and forefinger, fold the front bow ends together around the hanging end. By pulling the folded bow forward… |

You will make a small passage behind which you can push the looped end of the back bow using your right forefinger. |

Poke resulting loop through knot behind front loop. Even ends and tighten. |
